ADOPTION
Step-Parent – Completing a step-parent adoption can be accomplished by agreement of the parties or by having a hearing to terminate the parental rights of a birth parent. If the birth parent has failed to pay child support or has failed to maintain a meaningful and positive relationship with the child, you may be able to complete an adoption without their consent or otherwise terminate their parental rights. Upon successful completion of a Step-Parent adoption, you will obtain a birth certificate that will have the step-parents name as birth parent. Future child support obligations also terminate upon completion of a step-parent adoption.
Grandparent Adoptions – These adoptions often occur after a grandparent has raised the child by having Guardianship or otherwise having custody of a child for many years.
DHS-Swift Adoption Program – These adoptions are adoptions that are arranged by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Swift Adoption Program.
Relative – Adoption of a child by any birth relative of the child.
Private –Adoptions where the birth parents and the adoptive parents do not know each other and future contact between the child and birth parents does not occur.
Open – Adoptions where the birth parents and adoptive parents reach an agreement for future contact between the birth parents and child.

Fees for Guardianships vary by case. Uncontested minor Guardianships begin at $1,000.00, plus fees and costs. Prices for other Guardianships vary, please call for more details.
BANKRUPTCY – CHAPTER 7
A Chapter Seven Bankruptcy will provide the client with a fresh start. Typically, you can eliminate all credit card debts, medical debts and deficiency judgments with a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. You can normally keep your home, car and retirement accounts with this plan.
There is a substantial amount of information I will need from you prior to beginning a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. It is best if you give me a call and I can discuss with you whether a Chapter 7 would work for you and arrange an appointment with you.
I have a checklist of the various legal documents you will need to gather prior to that appointment. It is important that you get with me and obtain that checklist prior to your appointment. At our first appointment, you and I will go through all the documents needed to complete a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition.
Once I have been retained I will instruct you to advise the creditors to call me…not you.
Fees for most Chapter 7 Bankruptcies are $1,500.00 for the attorney fee and $330.00 for the filing fee. Payment Plans are available.

Although I will not tell you the year….I was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was raised in Wagoner, Oklahoma. I lived in Wagoner my entire life until going to college. I graduated from Wagoner High School.
I obtained a bachelors degree from Northeastern State University majoring in Criminal Justice Justice/Paralegal. I then attended Law School at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I later transferred to the University of Tulsa and graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1995.
I have always practiced law in Wagoner. I worked for an attorney in Wagoner for one year and have been in private practice since 1996. My office is located directly across the street from the Wagoner County Courhouse.
